Connor Wesley BSN, RN is a graduate student at the University of Washington working on his Doctor of Nursing Practice in the Family Nurse Practitioner track.  He occasionally moonlights as a Hospital Supervisor at a tiny hospital in Tacoma, WA, where he currently lives with his partner and their three dogs. He started his nursing career in oncology while spending occasional weekends working at Easter Seals Camp Stand by Me as the camp nurse working with folks in the disabled community.  Ultimately, Connor is passionate about creating a safe place in healthcare for the transgender community.  For the last decade has lectured both on a local and national level, on how to support trans patients in healthcare.  He wants nurses to be empowered to feel comfortable and confident in their ability to provide patient-centered care to all their patients, no matter their differences.

Robert Franklin II, has been lead of diversity, health equity and inclusion programs and initiatives for Children’s Hospital Colorado since the summer of 2018. In addition to maintaining consulting relationships throughout the US with organizations and individuals in service and community facing roles, Robert’s work builds on his former leadership of the Diversity Catalyst Team at Colorado State University, as a lead trainer within the City and County of Denver, and as Health Equity Officer of the Colorado Public Health Association. Guided by the ancestral concept that our generation is here because of work that started seven generations ago, today's coordinated strategies and impactful initiatives direct leaders, staff and community members to learn, talk about, celebrate and take action in response to the differences individuals bring. Moving from intent to impact.

All the speakers were excellent. Great variety of topics.

More diversity in audience and presenters than I have seen before.

This conference opened doors for me to get to know people who can help me reach my goals and advance my education.
