Become a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)
The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence is excited to bring 3 years of HRSA funding for the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) fellowship for the 2024-2027 years. This creative iniative aims to increase the number of trained sexual assault nurses (SANEs) in 5 states: Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Washington and Wyoming. This program has partnered with several organizations and schools of nursing to provide critical care for communities who have been affected by sexual violence.

Fellow Qualifications
- Must be a licensed RN with 2 years of direct patient care experience
- Rural candidates preferred
- Must sign a 1-year contract for participation in program
- Need to practice in one of the 5 partner states: Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington

Important Information
- This fellowship requires completion of didactic and clinical skills/genital skills training.
- Didactic training must be completed before a fellow can attend the Clinical skills training.
- New SANE fellow Orientation via ZOOM (mandatory): September 9th, 2024.
- All applicants will be interviewed before acceptance into the program. Limited spaces available!
The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) provides financial support to train and certify SANEs in the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Washington and Wyoming.
